Dog Safari
What is a Dog Safari?

A Dog Safari is an opportunity for you to accompany me on a walk with one of my dogs, during which I’ll guide you through canine body language as we pass other dogs, and help you to learn what’s going on in those cute little heads.
You’ll also learn what you’d do in each situation we come across with your own dog - whether s/he’s reactive, just a pup, struggling with confidence, recall, or anything else!
Why is this important?
It’s important because if you can read a situation more quickly than your dog, it gives you a huge time advantage in making sure you’ve got everything in place to tackle the encounter before it even starts to happen.
Being forewarned is being forearmed! And without your dog present, it gives you chance to learn whilst you’re NOT under pressure. Science shows that we learn so much better when we’re relaxed and calm. Learning whilst not having to focus on your own dog gives you the moments needed to assess and manage things without distraction.
You learn, you commit it to memory, and then you take it away to practice with your own dog. When things are in your “muscle memory” already, you can perform so much better in a real life situation.
And going back to canine body language, there are a hundred tiny & often very subtle behaviours that dogs display when they’re trying to communicate with us or other dogs. Wouldn’t you love to know what s/he’s really saying to you?!
Dog safaris are only £10 (plus £2 per additional person) and last around 60-90 mins. That’s up to an hour and a half spent with me, a canine behaviourist, ready and excited to really help you get inside dogs’ minds and discover the ability to read them.
