Here at Captain's Orders, we have an old joke that goes something along the lines of, "It's my dog's house, I just pay his mortgage", and whilst that's an amusing line, in a real life scenario, it's not funny at all. Some dog trainers will tell you that dogs should never be on your furniture under any circumstances, but we're a little kinder here at Captain's Orders and we understand that many owners love nothing more than curling up on the sofa to watch TV with their dog. However, if your dog is taking over your sofa or bed, if there's no room left for you, or worse, if they behave aggressively when you try to move them, it could be time to teach your pup some furniture manners. Putting a couple of rules in place that teaches your pup when it's okay to come up for cuddles, and when they need to return to the floor is all it takes to live harmoniously together.
